Individual Counselling in Ottawa:
A Collaborative Space for Growth
Healing Happens in Relationship
Individual counselling is a collaborative space where we gently explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns. The goal is to help you feel more grounded, supported, and connected to yourself and others.
My approach is relational and trauma-informed, offering a warm, supportive environment to notice how patterns show up in your life and relationships. Together, we focus on building awareness, increasing support, and gently strengthening your capacity to navigate life’s challenges with greater steadiness and ease.
You might seek individual counselling if you’re experiencing:
-
Anxiety, worry, or feeling on edge
-
People-pleasing, self-criticism, or burnout
-
The effects of stress, trauma, or long-term caregiving
-
Difficulty with boundaries, rest, or emotional regulation
You may be wondering how this kind of therapy might support you.
Why a Relational and Body-Aware Approach Matters
Insight Into Your Story
So you can better understand why certain patterns repeat and begin making more intentional, supportive choices.
Self-Trust & Compassion
So you can relate to yourself with greater kindness and feel more anchored in your own inner sense of what feels right.
Authentic Connection
So you can show up more honestly in relationships while honoring your own needs and boundaries.
Emotional Range & Balance
So strong emotions feel less overwhelming, and you have support to move through them safely.
Nervous System Regulation
So you can notice tension earlier and gently support your body in returning to a steadier, more settled state.
Integrated Healing
So insights gained in therapy begin to take root in your body and daily life, helping you feel more grounded, integrated, and aligned with your own needs and values.
A Supportive Space for Your Next Steps
Life can feel overwhelming, confusing, or full of competing demands. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and feel more like yourself again.

Questions You May Have
What if I'm nervous about starting therapy?
It’s completely normal to feel nervous or uncertain at the beginning. Many people do. Feeling nervous doesn’t mean you’re not ready—it simply means you’re stepping into something new and important. In therapy, we go at your pace, and you’re always in control of what you share and when. The goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore what matters to you.
It's normal to feel unsure - starting therapy is a big step, and you move at your own pace.
What if I don't know what to say in session?
It’s perfectly okay not to know what to say. Therapy isn’t about having the “right” words—it’s about noticing what’s happening for you. Sometimes we might focus on your body, emotions, or patterns, rather than words. I can guide the process, and we’ll take it step by step together. Silence or uncertainty can be part of the work, and it’s always welcome.
You don't need the perfect words - just showing up and noticing how you feel is enough.
What if I have had a hard therapy experience before?
Past therapy experiences—positive or difficult—can shape how we approach new work together. You are not required to repeat past patterns. In our sessions, we focus on creating safety, choice, and trust from the very beginning. We move at a pace that feels right for you, and you’re always welcome to share any concerns or hesitations. Your experience matters, and it helps guide how we work together.
You're in charge of the pace and your comfort always comes first.
What if I'm not sure this is bad enough for therapy?
Therapy isn’t only for crises. It’s a space for anyone who wants support, insight, or guidance navigating life’s challenges—big or small. Feeling uncertain about whether your experiences “qualify” is very common. You don’t have to reach a certain threshold of difficulty to benefit. If you’re curious about exploring patterns, emotions, or stress in your life, therapy can be a helpful and supportive space.
Therapy isn't only for crises - curiosity alone is enough.
